Small Town Christmas 2018 Schedule
Christmas Tree Festival! Vote on your favorite tree at the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce. Voting begins November 18th.

Friday, December 7th:
6:30 pm Tree Lighting at the Corner on Main St.
7:00pm- Ensemble Stages: "A Banner Elk Christmas" - A Holiday Musical Variety Show

Saturday, December 8th
8:30am- 5k Reindeer Run in Tate Evans Park with Williams YMCA sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Banner Elk
9:00am-10:30am-Pancake Breakfast with Santa at Dunn’s Deli
10am-4pm Christmas At Apple Hill Farm
10am-4pm New Opportunity School For Women Holiday Market at Lees McRae Cannon Student Center
10am-4pm BE Artists Gallery will be open with a focus on original Christmas gifts
10am-6pm Paw-licious Hot Cocoa at My Best Friend's Barkery
10am-5pm- Enjoy a Holiday Treat at Banner Elk Olive Oil and Balsamics
11am-1pm Storytime with Santa at the Book Exchange
1pm-3pm Ornament Decorating at the Bayou Smokehouse and Grill
3pm-4pm Cookie Decorating at Banner Elk Café

6pm Parade of Lights
Following the Parade there will be fun in the park including: Luminary lighted train rides, special light show, Karaoke with DJ Pete Welter and Meet Santa! Also the winner of the Christmas Tree contest will be announced.

Banner Elk Christmas Tree Festival

Rules for the Banner Elk Chamber Chamber Christmas Tree Contest.

1.Christmas Tree.....Must be a live tree. Must be between 5' and 8' ft tall. The tree needs to be secured to prevent tipping over in case of wind or snow, and you must be able to provide the tree with water to keep it alive and healthy for the holiday season. Trees should be placed near the opening of the business in a reasonable spot.

2.The tree must be up and decorated by November 17th, this allows folks visiting BE for Thanksgiving or here to cut down their own Christmas tree, the ability to vote for their favorite tree. Trees will need to be taken down after New Years.

3.Trees can be decorated however you wish as long as they are done in a tasteful manner.

4. The trees will be given a number that will be displayed on the tree by a Chamber volunteer. Voters can either use the number on the tree, or the name of the business associated with a particular tree when voting.

5.People can vote for their favorite tree at the BE Chamber any time of the day or night. The Chamber is open from 11:00AM to 2:30PM in the winter. After hour voters can slip their votes through the mail slot in the front door of the BE Chamber at any time.

6.Voting will be closed by 12Noon on December 8th 2018. Votes will be counted and the winner will be announced at the" Small Town Christmas event" that evening at Tate/Evans Park.

7.Prize...….The winner of the contest will be awarded a trophy and $150.00 in cash.

8. Participating Businesses must Register (so we can include your business on the voting ballot) by email to BannerElkChamber@gmail.com by November 14th.
